Maria Elena Liverani vince la Coppa Itlalia 2019

MEL Acronimo di Maria Elena Liverani socia CCR dal 2017, bella e “sottile” dottoressa- pediatra di 60 anni con una volontà di ferro ed un amore per l’Orienteering che dura da quasi 40 anni. MEL si trasferisce a Roma per seguire il lavoro del marito Stefano Bisoffi (altro orientista di gran livello). Validissimi atleti ed unici del CUS Torino presenti nel Lazio, i coniugi Bisoffi Liverani erano “corteggiati” dai club laziali . MEL finalmente un giorno cede alle lusinghe e chiede di iscriversi al CCR (!!!!) e noi ovviamente la accogliamo a braccia aperte ma Stefano rimane fedele al CUS Torino. MEL dice che desidera fare le staffette ai campionati italiani e il nostro nutrito gruppo di attempate signore potrebbe accontentarla nel suo intento. Responsabilizzate ed un po’ preoccupate diamo vita al suo desiderio, ci facciamo coinvolgere e nel 2018 e 2019 il CCR nella categoria W55 arriva sul podio ai Campionati Italiani di Staffetta! Quest’anno MEL vince la Coppa Italia ed arriva seconda nella Sprint Race Tour. Bella soddisfazione dottoressa!

Le faccio una specie di intervista su WhatsApp per conoscere il suo passato e lei mi risponde così: MEL: Vuoi una biografia? Sono nata a Udine, ma ho vissuto a Verona dai 5 ai 20 anni. Ho iniziato a fare Orienteering perché Stefano lo aveva scoperto da militare e al suo “rientro alla vita civile” ha iniziato a fare gare. Io lo accompagnavo, ma pioveva sempre e mi annoiavo, per cui ho dato l’aut/aut: “o smetti tu o inizio io”… Era il 1980.Al CUS Torino ci sono finita dopo un’iniziale esperienza nella società di famiglia ”Orienteering Casale” fondata da Stefano, me e una manciata di fratelli e amici -nessuno dei quali di Casale Monferrato, cittadina dove nel 1980 ci siamo trasferiti per il lavoro di Stefano. Dopo una “pausa di riflessione” dal 1986 al 1992 dovuta a figli e lavoro, quando abbiamo ripreso a praticare l’Orienteering, ci siamo iscritti all’unica società piemontese (il CRAL Torino). Poi le vicende interne
hanno portato all’esodo di quasi tutti gli atleti che sono confluiti nel CUS (e poi “scappati” tranne
pochi fedeli come Stefano). Something else?

Le chiedo: Nella tua lunga carriera sportiva ci sono stati Titoli italiani o presenze in nazionale? Nei campionati assoluti terza nel 1980, seconda nel 1981, e prima nel 1982. Sono stata la prima donna italiana a partecipare (arrivando ultima…) ai Campionati de Mondo in Ungheria nel 1983 (prima le donne non erano considerate degne). Poi i titoli Master, che sono “un po’…( tanti dico io…) Quindi la nazionale non esisteva? MEL: Sono stata “la nazionale femminile”(cui all’ultimo momento hanno aggiunto Cristina Vanzo, agli albori della carriera. Prima non esisteva. Tutto perché, seguendo Stefano ai “raduni” della nazionale, facevo gli stessi allenamenti e poco a poco ho convinto “i tecnici” che anche le ragazze avevano diritto di provarci Dico io: Incredibile. Negli anni 80 le donne praticavano gli altri sport tranquillamente. Nell’orienteering eravamo alla preistoria rispetto all’inclusione delle ragazze! MEL: Non c’erano soldi… E la prima presenza italiana ai Mondiali (a parte Luis Lantchner, che aveva partecipato come “italiano”a titolo personale nell’edizione precedente) fu nel 1981 in Svizzera. Ammetto che senza la mia cocciutaggine, forse la squadra femminile sarebbe venuta “dopo”…. Per ora MEL è ancora nostra socia; forse la pensione la riporterà in Piemonte, per adesso ce la godiamo e speriamo voglia lavorare a Roma ancora tanti anni…..
